Dear President Obama,
I am urgently concerned about climate change. This is the defining issue on which future generations will judge us. I need you to be bolder than you ever thought possible to fight this threat.

I thank you for personally attending the UN climate talks in Paris this week. I and my family ask that you commit the USA to do what is necessary to halt global warming below the highly dangerous 2 degrees centigrade.

  1.         Paris looks like another round of talks with no real solutions to the issues of dwindling resources and the destruction of our only environment being addressed. Maintain the the status Quo (Death march at this point) and talk about it.          The situation in Paris is NOT GOOD and no REAL SOLUTIONS ARE EVEN ON THE TABLE. We the US needs to make a major investment in technology and infrastructure for the entire world. We need to do this while it is still relatively easy to do         CHINA EXPECTS TO INCREASE IT’S USE OF COAL, MOST OF WHICH IS PRODUCING GOODS INCLUDING SOLAR PANELS, PEAKING AROUND 2030.        INDIA PALNS ON INCREASING IT’S USE OF COAL IN ORDER TO BRING 1.6 BILLION OUT OF POVERTY.        We are planning on continuing to burn more and more fossil fuel. The the point of these talks is stop this; apparently not?        Industrial nations are not making any commitment and do not have the political will to shift to: Nuclear Power not using bomb based technology and liquid hydrogen made from the Nuclear power. Third world nations, as a price for there participation, are demanding billions to combat the effects, move populations to higher ground, of our destructive path.          We have the resources to build an infrastructure that would supply free electricity to the entire world. Liquid hydrogen made from free electricity would easily compete with oil at 30$ a barrel. We need to do this now in order to stop burning massive amounts of fossil fuel. This is only one of MANY PROBLEMS WE FACE AS A RESULT OF TOO MUCH HUMAN ACTIVITY. I don’t want to see starving billions and killing Wars. (You think Wars over religion are brutal; see what happens when War is absolutely required in order to feed our families)       Trillions in planned solar subsidies will result in only a small fraction of degree less in Global warming. Trillions invested in Nuclear power and free electricity for the economy for all will solve the problem. Why are wasting MONEY ON PLANS THAT IN A WORLD WIDE PICTURE WILL NOT SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS at all. Germanys use of power from the power plants has dropped 1% despite an investment solar, that we are told, capable of powering all residential requirements! Germany uses a lot of French Nuclear power; cost associated WITH TRANSMITTING THE POWER to Germany make it too expensive. Same issue new have with solar however at this scale solar would be useless… not enough to get any power at the other end of the wire.        Invest in fantastic future not one that will return, if any manage to survive, us back to a stone age type of existence. Elite believe they will among the few; do you?

John Boothroyd       Short term effects of Burning Coal actually cools the environment, this also changes weather patterns; those pollutants quickly dissipate relative to the pollutants that warm environment. We haven’t even begun to see the problems form what we have already done. We have to stop, solar and in the meantime measures are not going to solve our issues
