Here’s How the Children Thank You

Your Actions are part of what is stopping the pipelines! Good Work!

We are on a roll: Keep up the pressure, as we still need to prevent the expansion of Access Northeast, a natural gas project through the Eastern part of the state jointly proposed by Spectra Energy, Eversource Energy and National Grid.  We also need to make sure that the Kinder Morgan project is not just “suspended,” but cancelled.

Today’s Action:
Tell the MA legislature we want the new omnibus energy bill to prohibit public or electric ratepayer financing of new natural gas infrastructure.

And yes: Please, please send this to your friends all across the state. We need to enlist their help. The upcoming omnibus energy bill comes at a critical time for the planet and we need citizen input. You are the ones who can bring it by lighting up your networks: Ask at least one person to join you in Monday Actions: You can keep sharing this online petition. It directs to your personal state senators, state representatives and the Governor.

To help you think of friends in MA towns, we are including a Special List of the Legislators to contact who have not yet supported today’s ask.
Dear State Legislator,

I am urgently concerned about climate change. This is the gravest threat facing us all and future generations depend on us to halt it. I want to see Massachusetts get 100% of its energy from clean, renewable sources like solar and wind.

I therefore need the new omnibus energy bill to prohibit public or electric ratepayer financing of new natural gas infrastructure.  The lack of certainty on this issue was explicitly cited by Kinder Morgan as a reason for suspending the project.

Thank you for fighting for us and our environment. The children thank you.
