Smart Power in MA

Monday Action 8/29/16: Help our State to Ask Smart Energy Questions To Prevent Wrong Infrastructure Build-Up.

Use the information in the sample letter below for calling your State Senator or Representative or to copy and paste the text of the letter into your own email or letter to your Senator or Rep. See the contact info below.

Dear Senator Rosenberg and Representative Story,

I am urgently concerned about climate change. This is the gravest threat facing us all and future generations depend on us to halt it. Therefore I oppose all new fossil fuel infrastructure and need a fair price on carbon.

Thank you for filing together with your colleagues as intervenors in Berkshire Gas’ proceeding at the DPU.

I am very concerned that energy companies including Berkshire Gas are still trying to create market conditions that they can use to justify new interstate pipeline projects.  I therefore urge you to engage an expert in this proceeding to present a plan to meet the region’s energy needs through energy efficiency, demand management, and fixing the leaks. An expert can offer solutions that the gas company will not put forward on its own.

Please take this opportunity to show that there is a better way forward for our communities and our children, than perpetually expanding fossil fuel infrastructure, locking us into fossil fuels for the foreseeable future.
