This week’s Monday Action: Spur your Governor to block new pipelines.
Call your governor if you can, but no guilt about cutting and pasting. Use the text below as a guide.
Are you doing all you can to protect us? I was alarmed to read last week that Eversource is confident on gas pipeline project: Predicts Access Northeast will begin construction in 2019.
As divisive as the campaign season was, poll after poll has shown that there is non-partisan majority support for renewable energy. And no wonder: Renewables create quality local jobs, from research and development, to manufacturing, sales, and service. Renewables represent true energy independence: There is no solar or wind equivalent of OPEC which can manipulate prices from afar.
We don’t need to wait for the President Elect to lay out his proposals; Massachusetts is a leader in clean energy and energy efficiency, but we can do much better: I urge you to move quickly on actions and legislation to speed up the adoption of renewable energy and conservation measures. You must oppose new gas pipelines, so you can look your children, grandchildren and voters in the eyes.
I am urgently concerned about climate change. This is the gravest threat facing us all and future generations depend on us to halt it. We need to source 100% of our energy from clean, renewable sources like solar and wind. We need to keep fossil fuels in the ground, including natural gas.
We urgently need you to lead on this. The children and I thank you.

Governor Charlie Baker

Well done, you did your Monday Action! See you next Monday.
Ask your friends to join you in action.
Thank you for being the change you want to see.
We’ve got a something different for you this week. This is your chance to lend a hand to Mass Power Forward’s campaign to get 500 small businesses across the state to speak out against new gas infrastructure and for a renewable future.
Select a small business near you, ask them to join other small businesses in saying “No!” to more natural gas infrastructure, and have them endorse the campaign by signing this form.
Report your success back to us, and we’ll tally it all for next Monday’s Action, when you’ll get a chance to call Gov. Baker to let him know just how strongly small businesses feel about protecting the climate.
Still here? Share this online petition with five people- can be out of state!– asking Governors to stop new gas pipelines.
Thank you for all you do.
